Another rare whale, this breaching Ginkgo-toothed Beaked Whale was photographed 21 March 2009 whilst aboard the

Spirit of Enderby

on the

Western Pacific Odyssey

The location was 25 57'S 167 41'E

(north of New Zealand, south of New Caledonia, east of Australia)

Probable male - note short evident beak, uniformly dark colouration and also the Cookie-cutter Shark bites
